One clean 12V rail. No single-battery tap.

Power golf-cart accessories from the full 36V or 48V battery pack with a dedicated 12V output. This 240W DC-DC reducer supplies up to 20A for common accessories without pulling power from only one battery in a series pack.

Why use a voltage reducer?

  • Balanced power source: connects across the main battery-pack positive and negative terminals instead of tapping a single battery.
  • Up to 240W output: supports a combined accessory load of up to 20A at 12V.
  • Key-switch control: the separate trigger wire lets the reducer turn on with the vehicle key.
  • Clean installation: finned aluminum housing, mounting tabs, detachable five-wire harness, and inline input fuse holder.

Ideal for

12V LED lights, horns, USB chargers, audio systems, GPS units, small fans, and other compatible golf-cart, RV, or electric-vehicle accessories. Add the current draw of all connected accessories and keep the total at or below 20A / 240W.

Five-wire connection guide

  • Thick red — Input +: main battery-pack positive.
  • Thin black — Input −: main battery-pack negative.
  • Yellow — Output +: positive lead for the 12V accessory circuit.
  • Thick black — Output −: negative lead for the 12V accessory circuit.
  • Thin red — Key switch: switched positive terminal behind the dash. If the vehicle has no key switch, connect it together with the thick red input-positive lead.

Installation notes

  1. Turn the vehicle off, engage the parking brake, and place the battery pack in tow/maintenance mode where applicable.
  2. Confirm the main pack positive, main pack negative, and switched key terminal with a multimeter.
  3. Mount the reducer in a secure, ventilated location away from moving parts, direct spray, and excessive heat.
  4. Complete and insulate all connections before reconnecting pack power.
  5. Check polarity and total accessory load before switching on.

Important: Do not connect the reducer to only one battery in a series pack. Incorrect polarity, short circuits, or loads above 20A can damage the reducer or connected accessories. If you are unsure about the installation, use a qualified technician.

FAQ

Will this work with both 36V and 48V golf carts?

Yes. It is designed for nominal 36V and 48V battery packs and provides a 12V output.

Can I power several accessories at once?

Yes, provided their combined continuous draw does not exceed 20A / 240W. Allow extra headroom for accessories with startup surges.

Why shouldn't I use one battery for 12V accessories?

Taking power from only one battery in a series pack can discharge that battery unevenly. A pack-level reducer supplies the 12V accessory circuit from the complete pack.

Does the key-switch wire have to be used?

Use it when you want accessories to switch with the vehicle key. For vehicles without a key switch, follow the included diagram and join the thin red trigger lead to the input-positive connection.

Is professional installation required?

A careful DIY installation is possible if you can identify pack polarity and switched power with a multimeter. Otherwise, have a qualified golf-cart technician install it.
